We opened our second Phenomxnal Womxn exhibition, I Am Phenomxnal Womxn, in March 2021. I Am Phenomxnal Womxn is a community art project that explores the identities of womxn in the Northern Region through collaborative portraiture. The project aims to produce art that creates space for womxn to reclaim their narratives and celebrate their individualities and identities as womxn. The project draws upon and attempts to challenge the colonial and post-colonial history of photography in Africa in order to produce art that creates space for womxn to reclaim their narratives and celebrate their identities as womxn.
